Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re planning a concrete project, you probably have a few questions.
Here are some of the most common ones we hear from homeowners. If you don’t see your question here, reach out anytime - Skip will be glad to talk with you.
-
Yes. According to the American Concrete Institute (ACI), it isn’t a matter of if concrete will crack, it’s a matter of when. What matters is how it’s mixed, reinforced, placed, and cured. We follow ACI standards and install proper control joints to help manage cracks and keep them as minimal as possible.
-
With proper installation and care, concrete work can last decades. The biggest factors in longevity are base preparation, drainage, reinforcement, and the quality of the finish. Because Skip is on every job, these details are done correctly from the start.
-
Your best maintenance step is simple: rotate where you park during snow and ice events so the same spots don’t take repeated freeze/thaw stress. Keeping the surface clean and sealed also helps extend its life. We offer pressure washing and maintenance services if needed.
-
Three things: experience, craftsmanship, and ownership. Skip has more than 33 years of hands-on experience, he personally manages every project, and he is the only owner among his competitors who is on the job site every day.
